Enjoy morning coffee lounging in captain's chairs on the oversized-balcony, watching the boats and ferries. Then consider visiting world, top-ten Trunk Bay beach by car (your reserved parking space is next to the elevator) or use the taxi shuttle at the nearby gazebo. At the beach, soak up the sun or sit in the shade before a mid-day swim on the National Park underwater snorkel trail. Stroll along the beach, doze off while reading in your beach chair, and then take a quick shower before heading back to town. Dress informally for dinner in one of the many great restaurants, such as Rhumb Lines, Morgan's Mango, or High Tide, just a block or two away. All this, and it's only the first day of your vacation in paradise.
Tomorrow you might drive or take the $1 VItran bus to Salt Pond Bay. Sighting southern sting rays and green turtles there is almost guaranteed. Hike up Ram Head for a glimpse of St. Croix 40 miles away before stopping at Shipwreck Landing for an afternoon rum punch. Spend the evening on your breeze-swept balcony savoring Uncle Joe's take-out barbeque and watching the sunset effect and twinkling lights of St. Thomas - a perfect way to round out the day.
At the Grande Bay complex, you can lounge at the pool, relax in the hot tub, or exercise in the air-conditioned fitness center. In the condo, you can connect your laptop for instant internet service; the condo is furnished with two TVS w/DVD players and 100 cable stations.
On another day, you might be up for more distant snorkeling at Waterlemon Cay or Cinnamon Bay. If it's Thursday or Sunday, you could take the 8:00 a.m. day ferry to visit the Baths on Virgin Gorda; on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, the 8:00 a.m. ferry travels to Jost Van Dyke, where Foxy's, the Soggy Dollar Bar, and the Blow Hole are attractions.
St. John, the most natural and beautiful United States Virgin Island, is home to world-class beaches – a true American paradise. Perhaps your trip will include a visit to some of our great hiking trails, a snorkeling tour, or just exploring in your rental car. When it comes to food, St. John restaurants offer fine both fine and casual dining. Breakfast options are a block away. You can purchase breakfast and lunch groceries at your choice of nearby grocery stores. Perfect weather is virtually guaranteed. There are balmy breezes and, for the St. John residents, a "cold snap" means the weather is in the low 70's at night. The water is a magical turquoise heated by the sun to a comfortable temperature.
